Louise Carver tops the Billboard charts
South African singer Louise Carver saw her single ‘Sunrise’ a collaboration with US DJ Joe Bermudez take the coveted #1 spot on the Billboard ‘Dance/Club Play’ charts.
An incredible achievement for a South African artist as the chart celebrates the most popular songs played in dance clubs, compiled from reports from a national sample of club DJs, with Joe Bermudez and Louise Carver getting more plays than singles from the likes of Justin Timberlake, Calvin Harris, Nick Jonas and Ariana Grande.
“Joe and I worked on the track ‘Sunrise’ in Boston and spent many long hours in studio getting it right. Just knowing that people are enjoying it makes us so happy. I love working with Joe because we both are all about the music and the journey it takes us on,” comments an ecstatic Louise Carver.

How did these two meet and create a Billboard charting single?
Joe Bermudez was the opening act for the David Guetta/Akon tour in South Africa a few years back. On his way to a 5fm interview he heard the Pascal & Pearce track for “Days Go By” featuring Louise Carver on vocals. Loving the sound of Louise’s voice, Joe wanted to work with her and tracked Louise down. She initially recorded the vocals for ‘Sunrise’ in South Africa, but Joe invited her to Boston where they worked together on making an incredible dance track. And the rest, as they say is history.

About Louise Carver
Louise Carver is one of SA’s most successful female artists. No stranger to having success with dance tracks, ‘Sunrise’ is without a doubt her biggest charting single to date.
Louise launched her career at the tender age of fifteen and 2 years later released her debut single ‘It Don’t Matter’ which became an instant hit and reached no.3 on the 5FM top 40. Her first album, ‘Mirrors and Windows’ followed just after. It was her first EP ‘Looking Around’, which explored her fascination with dance music and club life. Her music caught the attention of legendary deep house producer, Kenny Hawkes, who worked with her on the track, ‘Play the Game’ which went to no. 1 in Europe.
Due to the success of ‘Play the Game’, Sony UK licensed Louise’s song, ‘I’d Say Yes’ which went to no. 1 in Europe, Russia & South Africa and is still a firm favourite on the dance scene worldwide.
Her success continued to soar and her 2nd full-length studio album [‘Silent Scream’] connected her with well-established British production duo, ‘Tin Tin Out’. Louise signed a deal with Sony Music SA and release the first single from the album, ‘Empty Fantasy’ which went to No.1 across SA radio. Louise would also receive her first SAMA nomination for ‘Best Adult Contemporary Album.’
In 2007 her 3rd album ‘Saved By The Moonlight’ was recorded with the incredibly talented Theo Crous garnered another two SAMA’s in 2008 for Louise with ‘Best Female’ and ‘Best Adult Contemporary album.’ ‘Saved By the Moonlight’ spurned two more successful singles, ‘The Only Thing’ and ‘Didn’t mean to call and at the 2009 SAMA’s ‘Didn’t mean to call’ was nominated for ‘Record of the Year’.
